TAKE A STAND

This was a piece commissioned by Tuig meant as a flag for their illustration festival. The theme of the festival in 2026 was PROTEST. This was inspired by my Paper Puppet Pals where I made a set of 4 animal musicians.

I thought it would be fun to take that project a bit further by creating a new set of animals, this time as protestors. All the animals that are drawn for this set are farm animals, which I thought would be fitting for the theme.

As with the musicians, these pieces will be made into set that you can cut out and assemble yourself. The signs will be left blank so people can write their own name, saying or slogan.

On the left you can see the flag design, hand painted with gouache. Down below you can see all the designs made for this piece. Some of them did not make the cut for the flag.
